Hatha Yoga

Hatha Yoga helps achieve a balance between mind and body, as well as freeing up the more subtle spiritual elements of the mind through physical poses, breathing techniques and meditation. The practices can help you develop your strength, flexibility and willpower and mental control. This style of Yoga is excellent for those looking for something a bit gentler than the energetic Power Yoga classes. The different instructors teaching Hatha will all have their own style based on their background, quite often the personal style is a mix of different types of yoga that feels best to the instructor.

Hot Hatha is the same style of class, taught in a heated room. The heated room supplements the heat you generate in your own body during yoga and helps flush toxins from the system with sweat, while allowing extra flexibility, and deeper stretches in your muscles.

Anusara - Anusara is a powerful Hatha Yoga system that blends beautiful spirituality with an elegant biomechanical system.  Currently one of the most popular Yoga styles in the world, it is well known for it’s uplifting philosophy, which looks for the good in all things, and sees the potential in students of all levels of experience.
Gita - Gita yoga is very integrated.....breathing.....stretching.....concentration....sense withdrawal, meditation and philosophy are incorporated into all the postures. Every Gita Hatha (physical exercise) class has all of these components as a natural part of its flow. All of the postures work to balance the hormone producing glands.
Integral - Integral Yoga is an integrated system—a synthesis of the major branches of classical yoga practices and philosophies. The teachings of Integral Yoga are simple, profound and clear— through Integral Yoga we can develop an easeful body, a peaceful mind, and a useful life. We can be of greater service in the world, not so much by what we do, but by who we are.
Iyengar - What is unique about Iyengar Yoga is that it is characterised in the practice of asana and pranayama with the innovative approach emphasising precision and alignment, planned sequencing, timing and the use of props.
Purna - "Purna" means "complete," and Purna Yoga distills and integrates the vast aspects of yoga into an invaluable set of tools for transformation and healing. Offering wisdom and techniques for the union of the body and the mind with the spirit, Purna Yoga teaches alignment-based asana, meditation and pranayama, along with nutrition and yogic living. Purna Yoga is the art of loving yourself by living from the heart.
Sivananda - Swami Sivananda's contribution to the world is to have revived the tradition of the yoga of synthesis, integrating the four main paths of Yoga into a well-balanced Sadhana (spiritual discipline). The essence of his teachings can be summarized in the aphorism "Serve, Love, Give, Purify, Meditate, Realize."
